Season:
Set at 1500m above the Meditereanean coast st Pyrenees Orientales and the Cerdagne valley offer the perfect base for a mountain biking holiday. Officially the sunniest valley in France this destination has fantastic weather, but is high enough to not be too hot in the summer months. Trails are unlimited and offer incredible riding with pedalling access up to just shy of 3000m and singletrack Big Mountain Enduro style descents of up to 2500m drop and up to 25km of non stop descent in length. For those that like a bit of a mix there are two very good bikeparks, La Molina and Les Angles. Les Angles is a classic one uplift with multiple trails finishing back at the base style of park. La Molina offers this and also the possibility to access some incredible non waymarked backcountry. The mainly Granit bedrock coupled with the amazing sunshine record means that mud is unknown in this area!
There are some fantistic Enduro races organised in this area and it can be the perfect place to come for an early season trip taking in one of the local races to get your season off to a flying start.
